Our Story

Hello and welcome.  I’m Serena, the founder and creator of Gee Vee Candle Co.  Creating Gee Vee Candle Co. has been a labor of love, passion and healing. I have always loved to burn candles in my home. Whether I poured a glass of wine, sat down and relaxed or whether it was after cleaning house and burning a nice fragranced candle. However, after losing our mother so suddenly to cancer, lighting a candle took on a different meaning for me. Every time thereafter, when I lit a candle and watched the flame flicker, it was a source of healing. It was an opportunity to just simply close out the world around me and embrace the moment with thoughts and memories of my life with her. It was during one of these moments that I began to think of each of her three battles with cancer.  One day I picked up the candle I was burning and read the ingredients. The realization of the toxins that were in that candle hit me hard that day. And soon after my desire to produce a healthy eco-friendly and non-toxic candle to be enjoyed in our homes and spaces became a personal mission.

My mother is my inspiration and sharing her story and keeping her memory alive is what inspired the name, GEE VEE CANDLE CO... Her initials GV.

OUR MISSION

We are more than a business, we are a community of supporters for those whose lives have been affected by cancer. Gee Vee Candle Co. is focused on helping you find healing through your journey through the most difficult times. Candles have been a source of healing for me on my journey of grief which is what ultimately sparked the beginning of this business with the intention of creating an eco-conscious alternative to mainstream candles.

 Every candle is crafted with 100% natural soy wax from soybeans grown in the US and fragranced made without carcinogens, reproductive toxins and other concerning chemicals.  All of our products are free of paraffin, parabens and phthalates.
